Results

Since its creation in the Fall of 2004, the Transistion Mathematics Project has gained continuous momentum in the quest to secure bright futures in math for Washington State's students in transition to college and career.

Phase I (2004-2006) set a solid foundation for the sustainability of the overall project goals througth the development of clearly defined college readiness math standards, aligned with and building upon the existing K-10 math standards.

Phase II (2006-2009) has built upon that foundation by explicitly and consisitently incorporating the College Readiness Standards (CRS) into every element of the implementation work. By the end of Phase II there will have been substantial progress made on understanding of the value of the CRS, embedding them in ongoing habits of practice and building innovative and productive cross-sector collaborations.

As it looks toward the possibility of a Phase III, TMP believes it will be built around a core set of principles and products proven to have some success while more fully addressing long-term sustainability around ongoing improvements in math performance and pedagogy.

  • Over 20,000 copies of the College Readiness Standards distributed statewide, and beyond
  • 3000 Whatcom County Math Project CRS posters shared with all TMP Partner Projects across the state
  • TMP Partner, Project TIME currently delivering its newly created Senior Year Bridge Course Training within its own region and handling requests to share it with other areas of the state.
