Transition Mathematics Project is a private-public partnership committed to developing and disseminating clear and consistent information about math expectations. Our goal is to ensure students successfully transition from high school math to college-level math and beyond.

The TMP is seeking to fund 5-10 demonstration projects. The objectives of the TMP demonstration projects are threefold:

  • Increase the number of practical, innovative applications and approaches to implementing and operationalizing the College Readiness Standards in the classroom, with parents and / or directly with students.

  • Strengthen and develop cross-sector, collaborative approaches to reducing math remediation

  • Emphasize the effective communication of information about the practical uses of the College Readiness Standards in Math and the importance of more math and more intensive math in the junior and senior years of high school.

Eligible projects – Projects that will be considered for funding should focus on at least one of these four areas:

  • Classroom-based assessment and mathematics instruction

  • Communication / dissemination of math standards and why math is important

  • Math placement

  • Cross-sector course articulation

Projects in the implementation phase may request up to $15,000. Projects in the planning phase may request mini-grants up to $1000. (For your convenience, a Budget Summary Form is included.) Proposal review staff reserve the right to recommend grants of any amount up to $15,000.
