Transition
Mathematics Project is a private-public partnership committed
to developing and disseminating clear and consistent information
about math expectations. Our goal is to ensure students successfully
transition from high school math to college-level math and
beyond.
The TMP is seeking to fund 5-10 demonstration
projects. The objectives of the TMP demonstration projects are
threefold:
- Increase the number of practical, innovative
applications and approaches to implementing and operationalizing
the College Readiness Standards in the classroom, with parents
and / or directly with students.
- Strengthen and develop cross-sector, collaborative
approaches to reducing math remediation
- Emphasize the effective communication of information
about the practical uses of the College Readiness Standards in
Math and the importance of more math and more intensive math
in the junior and senior years of high school.
Eligible projects – Projects that will
be considered for funding should focus on at least one of these
four areas:
- Classroom-based assessment and mathematics instruction
- Communication / dissemination of math standards
and why math is important
- Math placement
- Cross-sector course articulation
Projects in the implementation phase may request
up to $15,000. Projects in the planning phase may request mini-grants
up to $1000. (For your convenience, a Budget
Summary Form is included.) Proposal review staff reserve the
right to recommend grants of any amount up to $15,000.
