The main components of this initiative have been designed as a direct response to both educators’ and employers’ interests in contributing to solutions meant to reduce remediation, and to improve math retention and application. During this year, Blueprint for Success will host two weeklong Construction Math Institutes for math instructors in Eastern and Western Washington, a series of In-Service Day workshops, and development of a comprehensive “toolbox” designed to offer rich, context-based math in the classroom. The
Blueprint for Success – Construction Math Initiative (CMI),
The Blueprint for Success – Construction Math Initiative,
with leadership from the Construction Center of Excellence at Renton
Technical College, is a one year capacity-building state supported
grant targeting school district partners in the King, Pierce, Snohomish,
South Central (Kittitas, Klickitat, Skamania and Yakima Counties)
and Spokane workforce development areas. Additional partners include
the Associated General Contractors Education Foundation and the
Washington Construction Workforce Network.
