Sammamish River Area Math Access Project

Of particular interest to us are those students who pass the 10th grade math WASL, do not take more mathematics courses in grades 11 and 12, and yet, aspire to go to college. Part of this may be due to lack of communication about what is needed to be “college ready” thus more education is needed for our teachers, counselors, and parents about the new CRS.

Another pressing need in our region is communication across sectors (junior -> senior high -> college) about the curriculum used in the CORE mathematics program as well as communication with parents about how the CRS connect to the CORE program outcomes. In addition, currently 50% of our entering students place into a development mathematics course.
